Valdez is the United States' farthest north ice free port with the best access to Alaska's interior as well as to the United States Pacific Northwest, Northern Canada, and Pacific Rim trade routes.
Valdez is the southern terminus of the trans-Alaska oil pipeline (TAPS). Supertankers navigate the deep, ice-free waters of Valdez Arm each day, handling more than 1.5 million barrels of crude oil. TAPS operations are managed by

Absentee Voting - Valdez 2016 Municipal Election
Absentee voting in person is available April 18th through May 2nd at City Hall from 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Please contact the city clerk's office (907-834-3468) for options regarding voting absentee by mail, fax, or personal representative.

Valdez Municipal Election - May 3rd
Polls will be open from 7am - 8pm on Tues. May 3rd. In addition to elections for mayor, city council, and school board, the 2016 ballot will include four propositions. Those needing special or absentee voting assistance, please contact the city clerk.
